An aerial view shows the Ohio Steel Foundry, which opened in 1907 on West Fourth Street in Lima. In 1969, Teledyne bought the plant, which continued to operate until November 1990, when its remaining workers were laid off. During its heyday in World War II, the plant employed 2,500, including many Black workers who were recruited in the South.
