Snow on Christmas, prized by white Christmas enthusiasts if not by those who have to clean it off driveways and streets, is relatively rare in western Ohio. In a 1936 story published in the Lima News, a state meteorologist said “the fact of the matter is, snow on Dec. 25 is about as common as monsoons in Missouri.”
